Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
R.C.I.A. is a program for individuals considering joining the Catholic Church, or Catholics who have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, or Catholics who are interested in knowing more about their faith. The program is held from September until May on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. One of the most significant ways Catholics today can be evangelizers is to become involved in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Since 1988 the RCIA has been mandated as the ordinary way adults are brought into full communion with the Catholic faith, whether from another Christian denomination or through Baptism. The RCIA is designed to be a progressive journey of faith and a recurrent experience of conversion not only for the searcher but also for the whole Catholic community of faith. Since it is a parish’s call to conversion, Catholics who desire to enliven their faith commitment are welcome.
Sacred Scripture Lecture
Throughout the year, from September to June, an adult education lecture series on Sacred Scripture is offered. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the Rectory Meeting Room. Themes from the Hebrew Scriptures include topics such as The Prophets, The Psalms and the Wisdom Literature.
Prayer and Scripture Sharing Group
This group meets each Tuesday in the Rectory Meeting Room from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Members explore and discuss the Sunday readings. All are welcome to attend whenever possible.
Spiritual Reading Groups
These groups meet in the Rectory Meeting Room every first Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Sister Carol leads discussions about spiritual reading.
